16 Barcelona players heading to the World Cup

World Cup is only a week away, and national teams are gearing up for the grand prize. With that being said, a total of 16 Barça players have been selected to represent their respective nations.

Spain head coach Luis Enrique rates Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets high, and has included the 34-year-old as well as Pedri, Gavi, Ansu Fati, Jordi Alba, Ferrán Torres and Eric García in his squad for Qatar.

Similarly, Barça’s Dutchmen Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay have been called-up for the World Cup.


Frenchmen Ousmane Dembélé and Jules Koundé have made the cut for Les Bleus’ World Cup squad.


Whilst Germany’s first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is not in his best health condition, Marc-André ter Stegen is likely to get good amount of minutes as a starter.


Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 13 league goals already this season, is leading Poland to Qatar.


Despite Raphinha’s lacklustre performances in recent times, Brazil head coach Tite has called-up the 25-year-old to join forces for Qatar.


Ronald Araújo, who had undergone a thigh surgery, has been named in Uruguay’s squad for the World Cup, but reports suggest he’ll not be playing group phase games owing to fitness reasons.


Last but not least, Andreas Christensen, who was impressive in the last Euro Cup, is also joining Denmark on their trip to Qatar.
