Franck Kessié out for several weeks amidst rumors of him wanting to leave Barça

As a consequence of a hamstring injury during the FC Barcelona’s Final Uefa Champions league match vs Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday night, Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie could be out for at least six weeks, according to a report.

Barça's Franck Kessie is said to have sustained a hamstring injury in opposition to Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday night and is expected to be away for at least six weeks as a result. The 25-year-old was named in the starting XI for Barcelona's Champions League match, which he won 4-2 on Tuesday, but was forced to withdraw after picking up an injury in the 67th minute. Xavi told reporters that he was playing a good game in the midfield position, winning duels, and was excellent at the beginning of the game, but he sustained a harm that is believed to be a hamstring problem. The injury is expected to keep him off the field for at least six weeks, which in turn means he’d have to be out until after the World Cup at the very least.

There are two extra La Liga matches against Almeria and Osasuna on November 5 and November 8, respectively, before the World Cup shuts down the marketing campaign in Xavi’s facet. Barcelona will not play again until December 30 against Espanyol, while their first match of 2023 may be against Atletico Madrid on January 7. Ivory Coast did not qualify for the 2022 World Cup, which means that the harm has not stopped Kessie from competing. There has been recent controversy over the summer time arrival’s future at Camp Nou, with a report claiming that he was seeking to leave the membership in January due to his lack of begins this season. 

AC Milan are said to be closely monitoring their former player, who has played only five games in all competitions for Barcelona in 2022-23 marketing campaign.

However, Kessie’s agent not too long ago insisted that there was no fact to the exit rumours.

“They are fake news, totally false,” George Atangana instructed Mundo Deportivo. “It's fake news, totally false. Kessie is very happy at Barca and in Barcelona.”

"He's been at the club for a few months and is still in the process of adapting to the team and Barca's style of play, which is very different from the style of other clubs, so it takes time.”

"Kessie continues his hard work in order to earn his place on the team. He does not give up easily. He had other offers this summer but he insisted on Barca."

Franck Kessie has contributed one goal in 13 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions, with his first goal for the team coming in opposition to Viktoria Plzen within the Champions League earlier in September.
