The Turkish top club Galatasaray has Memphis Depay high on the list of possible winter reinforcements. The club made a frantic attempt last summer to loosen the Dutch international from FC Barcelona, reports the Catalan newspaper Sport. Memphis still has a contract until next summer.
Contrary to how his employment in Spain started last summer, Depay has become a reserve player, especially this season. So far, he has made 131 playing minutes in three appearances. Both club and trainer Xavi will make a final decision about the future of the striker after the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
Partly due to the arrival of summer reinforcements Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) and Raphinha (Leeds United), the PSV-trained attacker saw his role drastically reduced in Camp Nou.
In addition to Galatasaray, Juventus also shown interest for Depay in the previous transfer window. The Old Lady switched after 'lodgement' by the Dutchman and got their desired summer reinforcement with Arek Milik.
