Pedri heaps praises on Fede Valverde

Pedri had an exclusive interview with MARCA in which he conversed about a ton of topics, one of those being his goalscoring. He wants to improve his scoring and named Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde as an example to follow.

"Yes, well, Fede is playing higher now, but it is clear that he is a good example. I have to improve in that aspect," Pedri told Marca.

If I had Aladdin's lamp, I would ask for more goals. It is not an obsession, although it is true that in the national team I have not scored yet.

"It is something that I know I have to improve and I hope that the first goal will come in the World Cup."

Valverde wasn’t always banging in goals as last season, Valverde scored just one goal in 46 games.

Now, he's got 8 strikes in just 20 matches. But, as Pedri rightly noted, the Uruguayan often plays as a right winger nowadays.

As opposed to the Spanish midfielder has scored 3 goals in 19 games. In the two previous seasons combined, the youngster had 9 goals in 74 matches. For any other 19 year old midfielders these kind stats are very much appreciated but Pedri feels he can score more goals and rightfully so.
