The Brazil international played 205 games for the Reds, scoring 54 goals and making 45 assists in all competitions.

At the time, he was renowned for his dribbling skills, creativity and long-range shooting.

Coutinho was Liverpool’s most-valuable asset. In 2017, the English club rejected Barcelona’s £72m bid for the Brazilian.

However, Philippe Coutinho forced through a move to the Catalan side in 2018. Barcelona signed the player for a staggering £142m total fee.

The Brazilian was diagnosed with a thigh injury during his medical, which sidelined him for three weeks.

Coutinho failed to deliver on a constant basis for the Blaugranas, which forced the club to loan the 30-year-old to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.

He won an European treble during his loan spell at Allianz Arena. He returned back to Barça in the 2020-21 season, and was loaned to Aston Villa the following season, where he ended up signing a permanent deal.

The Brazilian midfielder had a debut to remember for his brand new club, scoring and assisting a goal to salvage a 2-2 draw in a home league game.

Nonetheless, it seems Coutinho wants to take a step back from top-flight football and return back to Brazil for the rest of his career.

Corinthians are hoping to sign the 30-year-old on loan in January.
