FC Barcelona receive boost in their pursuit of Moukoko

As a result of his debut in professional football this season, Youssoufa Moukoko has become a hot issue in the transfer market at the moment.

After scoring six goals in the Bundesliga, the youngster has established himself as a key component of the Borussia Dortmund attack. The Bundesliga's powerhouses have benefited from his efforts, particularly without Sebastien Haller.

It goes without saying that Moukoko's performances have caught the attention of many clubs throughout Europe, who have expressed interest in signing the forward. Barcelona is no different; the La Liga powerhouse is apparently interested in a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.

Barcelona has recently received a significant help in their pursuit of Moukoko as the player's representative has refuted any contract agreement between the player and Borussia Dortmund.

Patrick Williams, Moukoko's agent, has in fact refuted recent rumours that Dortmund and the German star are nearing an agreement on a new contract.

Regarding Moukoko's future, Williams remarked, "I can confirm that we are not currently close to reaching an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign a new deal" (h/t Fabrizio Romano).

Moukoko has been pursued by a number of talented clubs around Europe, according to Williams, and there is room for him to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the current campaign.

“Moukoko is interesting for all the top clubs in this world. Even more so when he’s on a free transfer and has a future with the German national team,” he said.

Additionally, Moukoko's agent denied Borussia Dortmund's offer to sign the teenager to a contract worth €5–6 million annually.

“No, the numbers are not correct,” he said.

Patrick Williams' remarks could provide FC Barcelona a huge boost as they work to bring in Moukoko on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign. After all, the young player has a great chance of succeeding Robert Lewandowski as a long-term replacement and a leader of the Barça front line.
