Barcelona President Joan Laporta sheds light on Leo Messi Barca links.
Lionel Messi has been linked to a sensational return to the Camp Nou in the summer of 2023 for a long time now and the Spanish Giants have openly expressed their desire to bring back the 35 year old World Champion.
Yet, PSG seems to be determined to extend Leo Messi's contract as Naser Al Khelaifi and Luis Campos will leave no stone unturned to keep the Argentine at PSG, as reported by Le Parisen.
As reported by the French media, Leo Messi may have already given a verbal agreement to renew his contract with PSG! This news broke out only hours after Spanish media reported strong interest from Barcelona to push for the signing of the Argentine national in the coming summer window.
Now Barcelona President Joan Laporta has shed some light regarding the rumors in his latest statement on BARCA TV.
Messi is the Best player of all time. He’s a Barca fan; his heart beats for Barca. … so the links are normal.
Will Messi return? He’s a PSG player. We’d love to have Leo back here one day — but we will see.
– Joan Laporta on BARCA TV.
It clearly seems that the Spanish giants look forward to the signing of the Argentine superstar but the relationship between the board and the player seems to be far from friendly.

A possible return seems to be rather difficult considering how strained the relationships are and also Messi's blazing form in the French Club. The Argentine national has been fantastic this season, scoring and creating consistently as the main driving force in the UEFA Champions League for PSG.
