Manchester United continue their never-ending pursuit of Frenkie de Jong

After failing to sign Frenkie de Jong in the last transfer window, Manchester United have reignited their hunt for Frenkie de Jong.

According to Daily Mirror, the Dutchman might be open for a move to Old Trafford in January. United head coach Erik ten Hag has admitted his requisite of a dynamic midfielder for leading his project to further heights.

Frenkie de Jong has found himself in a weird predicament for much of 2022 due to Barcelona’s desire to cash in on him. However, the 25-year-old was hesitant to leave the club last summer.

The Holland international’s impressive performances at the World Cup has enticed Manchester United to revive their interests in attaining the player’s signature.

Barcelona are looking out to balance their books by offloading several players, so the departure of a highly-valuable player in Frenkie de Jong would let the Catalan club’s wage bill off the hook.
