Prior to the World Cup break, on November 8, the veteran striker was sent off during Barcelona's finals match against Osasuna, a 2-1 victory.

Only 30 minutes into the game, the Polish international recklessly tackled David Garcia, earning him a second yellow card from referee Jesus Gil Manzano.

In an incident that he claimed was directed at Xavi and the Barcelona bench, Lewandowski made a gesture that looked to suggest Manzano was "on drugs," according to Lewandowski.

After reviewing Manzano's report, the RFEF and La Liga decided to extend Lewandowski's sentence to three games.

Both Lewandowski and Xavi criticized the call, and after Barcelona's initial appeal was denied, it filed a second complaint with the Arbitration for Sports Tribunal.

The appeal, according to sources from Mundo Deportivo, was denied, and he will now miss the Catalan derby against Espanyol as well as league matches against Atletico Madrid and Real Betis.

When the Polish international is absent, Barça frequently struggles to deliver in the final third. Furthermore, playing without Lewandowski could make it difficult to navigate games against challenging opponents like Atletico Madrid and Real Betis.
