Barca Beat Betis to Go 8 Points Ahead of Real Madrid

Barcelona beat Real Betis at the Benito Villamarín to go 8 points clear atop La Liga.

This is the first time since 2017-2018 campaign that the Catalans have reached a marvelous 50 points mid season.

In an intense game that saw the visitors take all 3 points home, Real Betis put up a tough resistance in the face of Blaugrana firepower.

Raphinha and Lewandowski netted once each, while a defending error from Joules Kounde led to an own goal into the Blaugrana net.

Raphinha nets the first
In spite of the fiercely fought fixture, Barcelona were very much in control during most of the game. Frenkie de Jong's cheeky pass to Alejandro Balde helped the youngster to assist Raphinha as he netted the first goal.

The second goal was scored by Robert Lewandowski, who in spite of the goal, seemed slightly off his blaze after a return from his three match ban.

Alejandro Balde was named Man of the Match, and Barcelona walked out with all three points at the Benito Villamarín.

Now Barcelona remain top of La Liga, 8 points ahead of Real Madrid as pressure builds on the Blancos to aim for a victory in their next fixture, only if they want to keep any title hopes alive.
